Self-representation, done properly.
More people than ever are taking their own cases to court. Done without preparation, it is daunting and costly. Done well, it is a genuine route to justice.
A Litigant in Person is someone who brings or defends a case without a solicitor or barrister conducting it for them. The court treats your documents and your arguments on their merits, which means presentation, evidence and procedure matter enormously.
LiP Service™ exists to close that gap. We prepare the work behind the scenes so that what you put before the court is clear, ordered, properly evidenced and on time. You remain the party of record at every stage. The decisions, the signatures and the filings are yours; the heavy preparation is ours.
The result is the confidence of professional groundwork without the cost of full representation, on fixed fees agreed before any work begins.
Where LiP Service™ helps most
- You cannot justify the cost of full solicitor representation, but you will not face the system unprepared.
- You have a strong case and need it framed, evidenced and presented to the standard the court expects.
- You are facing a deadline, an order or a hearing and need experienced hands on the preparation now.
- You want to understand each step before you take it, with plain guidance and no jargon.
Preparation across the disputes that matter most.
Whatever the forum, the principles are the same: a clear case, well evidenced, correctly pleaded and presented on time. We support Litigants in Person across seven core areas.
Financial & Insurance Disputes
Claims against financial firms and insurers, including Financial Ombudsman Service submissions and onward court preparation.

No Hourly Charges, No Unwelcome Surprises.
The fear that stops most people defending or pursuing a good case is not the law. It is the bill. Open-ended hourly charging makes the cost impossible to predict and easy to dread.
We do it differently. Every piece of work is scoped and priced before it starts, so you always know exactly what you are paying and exactly what you are getting. That is how self-representation becomes a real, affordable choice.

Support for you, conducted by you.
Transparency is part of the service. Here is exactly what LiP Service™ does, and the lines we do not cross.
What we do
- Prepare witness statements, position statements and court bundles to a professional standard.
- Draft pre-action correspondence, claims, defences and submissions for you to review, approve and use.
- Explain procedure, deadlines and what each step requires, in plain language.
- Help you organise and present your evidence so your case is clear and persuasive.
- Provide steady, experienced guidance from first call to final hearing.
What we do not do
- We do not conduct litigation on your behalf. You remain the Litigant in Person at all times.
- We do not file documents or make court submissions for you. Those steps are carried out by you.
- We do not exercise rights of audience or appear as your advocate before the court.
- We do not replace independent legal advice where your matter genuinely needs it; we will tell you if it does.
When your case reaches a final hearing, you need not stand alone.
Meridian Legal Services holds a Bar Council Licensed Access licence. Through our exclusive arrangement with Access2BarristersDirect, the preparation we provide carries through to court. If your matter proceeds to a final hearing, a suitably experienced barrister of your choosing can be instructed to represent you.
Because Meridian holds a Bar Council licence, instruction is not limited to Public Access barristers. We can instruct any Bar Council regulated barrister directly, without a solicitor, giving you the widest possible choice of counsel for your hearing.
Prepared by LiP Service™. Represented, when it matters most, by a barrister of your choice.
Winning is not the only measure of success
Very few cases ever reach a final hearing. Knowing when and how to step out of litigation is itself a strategy, and the right moment is rarely obvious. Success is not always as clear cut as winning or losing. Often it means negotiating the most favourable outcome available, and what that looks like depends on how the case progresses.
A complete guide, beautifully presented.
Our LiP Service™ brochure walks you through every practice area, the four-stage process and our fixed-fee promise. Read it, share it, keep it.
Tell us about your case.
The first consultation is free and without obligation. We will tell you honestly whether LiP Service™ is right for you, and what it would cost.
